Just out of curiosity. What are the major reason why a staff application was denied?

There can be several reasons an application could be denied, it's hard to say specifics unless the reviewer tells you.

Might have been because you haven't been doing one of the following statements.

You haven't been taking the application seriously.
You haven't done the questioning appropriately to what they asked.
Your scenarios were not liked.
You haven't been on lately or not been contributing on the server for 8 hours a week like mentioned on the appeal.
