Error Connecting to Pixelmon Red but not others

I have been playing on Pixelmon Red for a couple of weeks. I was just playing today, and now am not able to connect to Pixelmon Red. I can connect to Pixelmon Scarlet, a server I have never played on and had no data on just fine.

Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: The received string length is longer than maxiumum allowed (17 > 16)

Error is encountered when attempting to connect to Pixelmon Red, but not Pixelmon Scarlet.

UPDATE : RESOLVED

• Waited a day
• Updated Pixelmon
• Cleared all .dat files in .minecraft folder
