Getting in to the Servers

I just bought minecraft to play pixelmon. By following the tutorial to play on Complex, i need to download the TechnicLauncher but that requires a mojang account. The minecraft account i just made is from microsoft, i have downloaded forge 8.12 and the %appdata% file moving. So im wondering if there are other ways to connect to the server without Technic, thanks.
