Looking for information about clans

I play with a group of 6 people regularly on one of the colored servers, and we were tossing around the idea of starting a clan. I was trying to find some information on whether or not it would be worth spending the money to keep it going for a small group? What kinds of benefits are there to having a clan? What are the drawbacks? Any information would be appreciated!

so having a clan can bring a variety of benefits such as getting rewards for owning a clan gym for around 7 hours and each time 7 hours has passed without the clan gym being taken you will be rewarded these rewards however the rewards are dependent on which tier your clan is.
