my game is going into lagging fits and i dont know how to fix it

so i think i actually know how to fix it but i dont know where to change what needs to be changed, i think too m any pokemon are spawning and its making my game lag. i dont know where th settings for this are because i used to but now i cant find them. i dont know why my pc cant handle it anyway since i have 16gb of ram and this pc can handle skyrim with 1200 mods but yk
