Pokemon evolving into themselves.

I have recently been encountering a bug in which two of my pokemon have to go the right level to evolve and just evolved into the same pokemon they were before preventing me from evolving them again. I didn't cancel the evolutions or pressed any buttons they just evolved into who they already were. The Pokemon in question are my starter Froakie and a Shinx i caught in the wild. Both could evolve into their second form but couldn't progress to their third stage.

This is a common evolution bug which can be fixed by making a ticket on the Discord. You can make a ticket in the #help-and-support channel and a staff member will help you from there.
