How do i claim land

I don't know how to claim land I have asked multiple times and no one has helped so I was wondering if anyone else could help me

do /kit claim. After doing that you will receive a golden shovel, with it, you want to right-click and edge of a block to start your claim. After selecting the first block you wanna go diagonally to the other corner to claim your land.

It is kinda hard to explain so I will drop you a video so you have an idea.
