Factions S3 comprehensive server suggestions

Hey guys, I understand there is a discord server for server for suggestions but I decided id make a more detailed and explained list for the more in-depth suggestions.

  1. Water logged slabs. As most people know already water logged slabs are maybe just the most annoying thing on this server when it comes to raiding a base currently on the server, I understand to remove this it would be difficult as we play on the current versions of Minecraft and it is a java mechanic of the game but if this was removed it would make the game more raid based and would encourage more players to continue playing instead of running out of things to do. It would also make base building a lot more difficult as countermeasures would have to be built instead and would feel more like factions. (Haven’t been raided for 2 seasons) :(
  2. Economy balance. When you first log into a server to play one of your thoughts is “how do I make money?” And this server shows extremely poor diversity of how to make money, the economy should be more progressive in the regard that the OG ways of making money like cactus/sugarcane farms should be able to make you a respectable amount of money for a new player that doesn’t have the money for spawners, other mob farms as in cows ect should also be able to make a lot more money as they are rendered useless due to the small amount the mob drops are worth. Basically what I’m saying is that there should be multiple good ways to make money and it could all be done by changing the sale price of some items.
  3. Small player base. At the start of season 2 for the first week there was a constant of 60-80 players on the server, and then all of a sudden it changed to a constant 30 then 20 then 10 and now sometimes I am the only one on the server. Apart from the reason I’m raiding everyones base, the player base is getting driven away because they are running out of things to do, they can’t raid because of slabs and because the server isn’t using the plugin that lets you stack more than one sand at a time, the war zone is vanilla and boring and broken… and there isn’t any server events to bring the server together. To fix the player base leaving after a week there are many things you could do to make it more engaging and fun.

A. Custom warzone/ giving the server a theme and changing the spawn potentially (its kinda ugly)

B. Custom server events eg. KOTH/Envoys/Custom mob bosses, having events like these would encourage the players to go into the new custom war zone and fight with a purpose instead of dropping down spawn to get killed by Senju aimlessly.

C. I can’t stress enough about how ugly the server is tho please give it a face lift as I’m sure there are plenty of builders that would love to do it for free on the creative server. If understand why so many people quit on this server just by looking at the raw ugliness of the spawn and the warzone and if I wasn’t winning every season It would feel like the server didn’t want me there by the way spawn looks at me.

  1. I saw a server suggestion by my old friend Joshua_918 that got denied talking about how /f top balance should be the faction value not the faction balance as it encourages raiding enforcing a larger player base as there would be more things to do seeing as there would be a point in raiding. This would mean that all spawners in your claims/chests would add to the factions value meaning there would be a point in keeping that cow spawner from your vote key instead of giving it to noobs like Flow and Myth. This would also create more excitement raiding as you would actually gain value from the enemy factions, as the notorious raider on the server I have been into 100s of bases including every single base from the top factions and as my faction mates will tell you I do not get excited as I do not gain anything. But if the f top was based on value it would be a different story.

I could talk about 100 other little things to improve the playing experience but I thought these where some of the more exciting ones that I would love to see turn into a reality, I understand Fult is a busy guy and has many other servers to deal with but id love for him to read this and consider some of my suggestions.

I strongly agree with everything @OGTurt has said... Factions are in need of an update
As a new factions player, this all makes sense and these ideas should be implemented into factions

I 500% agree with everything @OGTurt said, but would add a few things:

1. Make ender pearl glitching explicitly against the rules: I've heard it both ways from multiple people: it's against the rules, and it's not. I know people raid this way, and every server I've ever played on in the past has this banned.

2. TNT shouldn't break obsidian from however many blocks away: Currently, the way TNT and obsidian works makes obsidian useless. Water protected or not, TNT can still blow it up easily from over 10 blocks away (so I've been told by numerous people, and experienced myself in a raid when 3 walls weren't raided, but the Obsidian core was blown up). The only use for obsidian is being cegg proof (supposedly), but that doesn't matter given I can blow it up from far away using TNT.

3. Overhaul the shop: Let's be honest, the shop is in a terrible state if you have any experience playing a Factions server. In season 3, the economy is based SOLELY on who can grind the most villagers, to make the most emeralds. Two major examples as to why the shop (let alone the economy) needs a complete overhaul are: spawners are borderline irrelevant (aside from IGs, which are only good in a MASS quantity), and countless blocks are either overpriced or just missing. The only use for any spawners aside from IGs or cave spider spawners are to be sold to new people for next to nothing, because they are a waste of space inside the base.

4. Overhaul the crates: I personally made a suggestion on this one, but didn't get to see the results because I was banned from the Discord after somebody flamed it, and I responded back defending it. Nonetheless, the crates on factions aren't anything exciting. The only reason I would consider spending money on them, is for villager eggs or faction power. And even then, villager eggs may be pointless in season 4 because I can just fly to the furthest village and claim villagers that way. BUT. Some issues are: "Super Diamond Armor" is not super. "OP diamond pickaxe" and "OP diamond sword" are not OP and definitely don't belong in a crate that is $5/key. There are countless more examples, but all in all, spending $5 on a Godlike key should reward somebody with godlike loot, not stuff out of a random players vault.

5. Fix /F perms: This one is simple. By default, the perms should make sense. Other. People. Can't. Break. Blocks. In. My. Claim. I've raided countless bases of new people on the server because of this being a thing. There should be NO REASON that by default people can break blocks in other factions' claims. People who join the server aren't warned of this, it's never been an issue on any other factions server in my 7+ years of factions, and it shouldn't be an issue on this server.

5. PLEASE fix Faction Power: Despite being my last suggestion, this one is most definitely the biggest issue I see on the server. I shouldn't lose power for spending the weekend doing something other than playing Minecraft. Let alone, I shouldn't lose power to accidentally freeing 500+ cave spiders in my base, and then never be able to get that power back until the new season. Trying to figure out why people wonder why the server dies out toward the end? Because the only way to maintain power for the entire season is to: buy keys, play EVERY DAY, NEVER DIE, or be new.

In conclusion, all of these seem like arguably small points, but in reality play a major role in shaping the server as a whole. If appropriately addressed, they would make the server enjoyable, and not feel like a grind. Because in the end, we should be able to enjoy our time on the server, that's what Minecraft is about, right?

EDIT: the only thing I disagree with is removing waterlogged slabs. If this happens, then frost walker boots should also be removed because the only way to effectively counter them are to use waterlogged slabs, since ice won't form due to the slab.

Yeah i also made a suggestion about these things and i’d just like to correct you on a few things, tnt breaks obsidian 7 blocks away and u can’t actually ended pearl glitch it’s a minecraft mechanic because you can’t fit in half a slab of room it would be able to happen on most servers but yes i agree @RageFore1901
