How to EV Train in Cobblemon
What EVs are, how to train them fast, and how it works on Complex
Short answer: EVs (effort values) are bonus stat points your Pokémon earns by defeating other Pokémon. Each Pokémon can have up to 252 EVs in one stat and 510 in total. To EV train in Cobblemon, battle Pokémon that give the stat you want, and hold a Power item to earn extra EVs from every battle. Vitamins raise EVs without battling. On Complex Cobblemon (cobblemon.mc-complex.com), head to
/warp evtraining for an EV training area, or use PokeBuilder (
/pb) to change EVs.

What are EVs in Cobblemon?
Every Pokémon has six stats: HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed. EVs are extra points that boost those stats. Your Pokémon earns EVs every time it defeats another Pokémon, and different Pokémon give EVs in different stats. A fast Pokémon usually gives Speed EVs, a bulky one gives HP or Defense, and so on.
- 252 EVs is the most one stat can have.
- 510 EVs is the most one Pokémon can have in total.
- A common build is 252 in two stats and the last few in a third.
How to EV train, step by step
- Decide which two stats you want to max, like Attack and Speed for a fast attacker.
- Find Pokémon that give EVs in that stat.
- Give your Pokémon the matching Power item to hold.
- Battle and defeat those Pokémon until the stat hits 252.
- Repeat for your second stat.
Power items and vitamins
| Stat | Power item (hold while battling) | Vitamin (use directly) |
|---|
| HP | Power Weight | HP Up |
| Attack | Power Bracer | Protein |
| Defense | Power Belt | Iron |
| Special Attack | Power Lens | Calcium |
| Special Defense | Power Band | Zinc |
| Speed | Power Anklet | Carbos |
- Power items: your Pokémon earns extra EVs in that item's stat from every Pokémon it defeats, which makes training much faster.
- Vitamins: each one adds 10 EVs to its stat straight away, no battling needed.
How to check your EVs
Open your Pokémon's summary, go to its stats, and switch the view to EVs. Check after every few battles so you don't go past 252 in a stat you've already finished.
