Complex Gaming Cobblemon & Pixelmon - Getting Started

Step 1

The First Steps...

As you join the server for the first time, you will find yourself in the spawn area. The first thing you will want to do is select your starter Pokemon!
  • On Pixelmon, the starter selection screen will automatically appear.
  • On Cobblemon, you can either right-click the NPC at spawn, or press M. If your minimap opens instead, make sure to check your keybinds.
Before heading out, be sure to read the server rules (/rules). They contain important information about gameplay, player conduct, and chat-related behavior.

The spawn area contains several holograms explaining various server features, important buildings such as the PokeCenter and PokeMart, and much more! Take some time to familiarize yourself with the server and its exclusive features before setting off.
Step 2

Exploring The World

Once you have explored the spawn area, or if you would rather get started right away, run /rtp. This command teleports you to a random location in the overworld where you can build, discover generated structures filled with loot, battle Pokemon, and much more! You will have two destinations to choose from: the Overworld or the Resource World:
  • The Overworld is the main world for homes, claims, and player builds. It never resets unless the server undergoes a full wipe.
  • The Resource World is designed to be explored and pillaged on a first-come, first-served basis. It resets on the 1st of every month, refreshing all of its resources, structures, and loot. We do not recommend building anything you are not prepared to lose when the world resets. Players cannot set homes or create claims in this world.
A Cobblemon-exclusive feature worth checking out is the Trainer Journey! During your first week on the server, you can complete unique objectives through the /journey command to earn valuable items and rewards. You can also compete with other new players on the Rookie Leaderboard using the /rookies command.
Step 3

Setting Up Your Base

By now, you have picked your starter and ventured out into the wilderness. Whether you want to build a mansion or a small shack to store your items, you will want to make sure your valuables are protected and easy to access.

Protecting your builds is done through the /claim command! This opens an interface where you can claim chunks around your character. Select the claim you would like to use by clicking the chest in the bottom-right corner, then claim the chunks around you. You earn one claim chunk per hour, and you can also purchase additional claim chunks through the same /claim interface.

If you would like your friends to access your claim, open the /claim interface again, click the chest in the bottom-right corner, and select the claim you want to edit. From there, click the Player Head, then select Invite Player (the Emerald Block) at the top of the menu.

For a more detailed explanation of the claiming system, check out our Claim Guide on the forums!

Now that you have established a claim and found a place to call home, use the /sethome command. This allows you to teleport back whenever you would like. You can have multiple homes, so do not hesitate to create several if you discover interesting places you would like to revisit.

You can also give your homes custom names by using /sethome. For example, /sethome mountains, /sethome farm, and so on.
Step 4

What Do I Do Next?

That is up to you! There are plenty of different paths you can take on the server. You can build impressive bases or shops, join a clan, complete your Pokedex, challenge the Gyms and Elite Four, hunt for rare Pokemon, or simply explore everything the world has to offer!

We look forward to seeing you online!
