Chat Rules​

• Keep all chat appropriate. Do not discuss anything inappropriate, controversial, or political.
• Keep everything you can name in-game appropriate, e.g. player warps, faction names, item names, nicknames, pets and paintings.
• Swearing is allowed within reason. Do not overuse swear words, and never direct swear words at other players.
• Be respectful to all players and staff under all circumstances.
• Do not spam in any way, or attempt to bypass our spam filters (signs, chat, commands, etc.).
• Do not harass, bully, or threaten any players or staff.
• Racism, discrimination, or any form of hate speech is not tolerated.
• Do not advertise, link, or promote any services that are not related to Complex Gaming.
• Inappropriate usernames, skins or capes are not allowed.
• Any inappropriate or sexual comments involving minors are strictly forbidden, in any form. This includes item names and any communication on or about the Complex Gaming Network.
• Only use English in the main chat. If you want to use another language, please use /msg.

Voice Chat Rules​

If you use the Simple Voice Chat mod:

• Keep all conversations appropriate. Do not discuss anything inappropriate, controversial, or political.
• Racism, discrimination, or any form of hate speech is not tolerated.
• Harassing, bullying, or threatening other players or staff is not allowed.
• Do not advertise, link, or promote any services that are not related to Complex Gaming.
• Be respectful to all players and staff under all circumstances.

Gameplay Rules​

• Do not trap teleport or trap kill players (except on Factions).
• No hacked clients or illegal mods, e.g. kill aura, reach, x-ray.
• EasyPlace is allowed (no printer).
• Do not intentionally lag the server. This will result in punishment.
• Do not modify keyboard or mouse functions for an advantage (auto clicking, etc.).
• Do not abuse bugs, exploits or glitches. Report them to staff through our Discord.
• Do not AFK mine or farm. Any form of macros or auto clickers will result in punishment.
• Do not scam other players. If you commit to a deal or trade, you must hold up your end. Note: falsely advertising an item as something it is not is not allowed (staff discretion).
• Do not make inappropriate builds.
• Do not impersonate staff members, or pretend to be a rank you are not.
• Do not camp other players' claimed areas, including islands, claims and builds.
• Do not reveal private information about any player other than yourself.
• Do not grief other players, claims, or the world. Griefing of any kind is not tolerated.
• Do not steal from other players or unclaimed builds (except on Factions).
• We do not honor membership deals (e.g. 5 million IGM to join an island, plot, claim, faction or gang).

Trading, Loans and Deals​

• Trading items for anything other than in-game items or gift cards from our store is strictly forbidden.
• We do not support loans in any capacity (items, GC, etc.) and strongly advise against them. You assume all risk and responsibility if you give one.
• Agreements to give items back, verbal or written, are not moderated, and are not treated as a deal or trade under our scamming rule.
• If a player is banned while holding your items, staff will not move, return or replace them.
• We do not moderate any Reset Vault deals, even when they involve GC or ranks.
• "Give-Me-Back" deals are not moderated, even if both players agree to the terms (e.g. "If you win, you give it back", "If I win, I give it back").

Teaming and Allies​

• Teaming is not moderated in PvE areas outside of Factions, including Skull Island, Pharaoh's Tomb, the Dojo, and events like /pond.
• Allies are not allowed on Factions. This is moderated through the factions-allies chat on our Discord. To get added to it, open a ticket on our Discord.

Miscellaneous Rules​

• Do not beg staff members for items, events, updates, punishments, etc. Staff can do these things on their own, so please do not harass them for them.
• Do not bypass punishments by any means (e.g. alternate accounts, abusing in-game commands or items).
• Account sharing is not allowed under any circumstances. You assume all risk and responsibility if you do so.
• If you lose items from server bugs, outages, scams, lag, etc., we recommend having clip or screenshot evidence so we can reliably help you.

⚠️ Watch out: if you are caught evading a punishment on an alt account, your alts will be banned and the punishment on your main account will be increased.

Alt Account Rules​

Alts are not banned on Complex Gaming vanilla servers, but they are heavily restricted. Alts should only be used for AFKing, to keep chunks loaded for farms, mob grinders and similar. You cannot have more than 4 alts, no matter the use. Factions has its own alt rules on the Factions rules page.

Skyblock Rules​

• You may only compete for 1 PvP Top island until your cooldown to switch islands is up, or a new PvP Top month starts.
• You may not leave your main PvP Top island to PvP for a solo island while your main island team protects you. This bypasses the one-island rule and lets you claim multiple spots on the PvP Top leaderboard.
• You may team up in PvP with other island teams as long as they are legitimate teams, not alt islands (staff discretion).
• You may only compete for 1 Island Top island. If you want to change the island you're competing on for the month, you must leave any other Island Top islands.
• No insiding, backstabbing or betraying of any kind. This is enforced at staff and admin discretion. When you join a competitive island, you're joining to help it grow and win Island Top.

⚠️ Watch out: to prevent lag, islands that are inactive for 6+ months are automatically wiped.

Prison Rules​

• Loans are not supported by staff. If you give out a loan and the player does not pay you back, that is on you.
• No insiding, backstabbing or betraying of any kind. This is enforced by staff. When you join a gang, you're joining to help it grow and win /gang top.
• Using alt accounts to benefit Gang Top contributions for competing gangs, or to bypass the forced gang join cooldown, is not allowed.

Survival Rules​

• Do not claim along the borders of other claims just to stop them from expanding. There must be at least a 2 chunk buffer between claims.
• Do not bypass our spawner efficiency limits, e.g. 4 grinders, 5 chunks apart, of the same spawner type (staff discretion).
