Cobblemon Shiny Guide: Odds, Boosters and Tips (2026)

Short answer: In the base Cobblemon mod, the default shiny rate is 1 in 8,192, the same as the main Pokemon games. On Complex Cobblemon (cobblemon.mc-complex.com), the shiny rate is 1 in 4,096, twice as good, so every wild Pokemon you encounter has that chance of being shiny. You can raise your odds even more with shiny boosters from gyms, Dungeons, contracts and crates, and you can also get shinies from crates, gyms, Dungeons, Ranked and legendary spawns.

What are the shiny odds in Cobblemon?​

The default shiny rate in Cobblemon is 1 in 8,192. Servers and modpacks can change it in their config, so the odds can be different from one place to another. On Complex Cobblemon, the base rate is 1 in 4,096, twice as good as the default, and shiny boosters let you improve your chances even more.

How to boost your shiny odds on Complex Cobblemon​

Complex Cobblemon has shiny boosters that raise your shiny odds for a short time. A Shiny Rate Booster lasts 15 minutes, and an Epic Shiny Rate Booster lasts 10 minutes with a bigger boost. They come from Random Boosters, which you can earn from:

• Gyms
• Dungeons
• Contracts
• Crates

Activate your boosters right when you start hunting so you get the most out of them.

Every way to get a shiny on Complex Cobblemon​

• Wild spawns: every wild Pokemon has a shiny chance, and shiny boosters raise it.
• Crates: shinies can come from crates.
• Dungeons: clear Dungeons for a chance at shiny rewards.
• Gyms: every gym win has a chance at a Shiny Spin.
• Ranked: Ranked milestones include Shiny Spins.
• Legendary spawns: legendaries that spawn for you have a small chance to be shiny.
• Flash Hunts and Bingo: win Event Crate keys from Flash Hunts (/hunt) and full bingo cards (/bingo), and the Event Crate can give shinies.
• Trading: buy shinies from other players on the Global Trade Station (/gts) or trade with /trade.

Shiny hunting tips​

• Explore new areas: use /rtp to reach fresh terrain where more Pokemon spawn around you.
• Hunt where your target spawns: type /pwiki <pokemon> to see where a Pokemon spawns, then hunt in that biome.
• Time your boosters: shiny boosters only last 10 to 15 minutes, so use them when you're ready to hunt nonstop.
• Look and listen: shinies have different colors from normal Pokemon, and a shiny spawning near you plays a sound, so check every encounter.
• Bring good Poke Balls: stock up before you hunt so you don't lose a shiny.
• Play every day: gyms, Dungeons and contracts all reward boosters, so regular progress means more boosted hunts.

Can you breed for shinies?​

Not on Complex Cobblemon. There is no breeding on the server, so shinies come from wild spawns, shiny boosters, rewards and trading.
