Cobblemon Mega Stones and How to Mega Evolve (2026)

Short answer: To Mega Evolve in Cobblemon, give your Pokemon its Mega Stone as a held item, have a Key Stone, and choose the Mega Evolution option in the battle menu. The base Cobblemon mod doesn't include Mega Evolution. It's added by addons that servers and modpacks install. On Complex Cobblemon (cobblemon.mc-complex.com), every Mega Evolution from the Pokemon games is in. You can earn a Key Stone from World Boss raids, and Mega Stones drop from Pokemon, Dungeons, gyms and more. It works in every battle.

Can you Mega Evolve in Cobblemon?​

Not in the base mod. Cobblemon on its own doesn't have Mega Evolution, so whether you can Mega Evolve depends on where you play. Servers and modpacks add it with addons. On Complex Cobblemon, every Mega Evolution from the Pokemon games is available.

What you need to Mega Evolve​

• A Key Stone, which lets you trigger Mega Evolution in battle. It works like a voucher: redeem it once and Mega Evolution is unlocked for you
• The right Mega Stone for your Pokemon, given to it as a held item
• A Pokemon that can Mega Evolve, like Venusaur, Blastoise, Gengar or Lucario

How to get a Key Stone​

On Complex Cobblemon, you can earn your Key Stone from World Boss raids. A new world boss spawns 45 to 60 minutes after the last one ends. Your chance depends on the boss and how well you place: tougher bosses (Rare and above) and a top finish give the best odds. The Labyrinth boss in the Battle Cafe and the Ultra Crate can also give a Key Stone. Type /keystone to check if you already have one, and /megapokemon to see every Pokemon that can Mega Evolve.

How to get Mega Stones​

• Defeat Pokemon from the evolution line: every Pokemon in a Mega's evolution line has a small chance to drop its Mega Stone. For example, Bulbasaur, Ivysaur and Venusaur can all drop Venusaurite. The higher the evolution, the better the chance.
• Dungeons: Mega Stones can drop as Dungeon loot.
• Gyms and the Battle Tower: gym wins and Battle Tower floors have a small chance to give a random Mega Stone.
• Crates: the Event, Lunar and Ultra Crates can give Mega Stones.
• Trading: trade with other players using /trade or the auction house (/ah).

How to Mega Evolve in battle​

1. Give your Pokemon its Mega Stone as a held item.
2. Make sure you have your Key Stone.
3. Start a battle and choose the Mega Evolution option in the battle menu.
4. Your Pokemon Mega Evolves for the rest of the battle.

Where can you Mega Evolve?​

Everywhere. On Complex Cobblemon you can Mega Evolve in every battle, including gyms, the Battle Tower, Ranked, raids and wild battles.

Terastallization, Z-Moves and Dynamax​

Complex Cobblemon also has Terastallization. Z-Moves and Dynamax aren't on the server.
