Cobblemon Ranked PvP
How ranked battles, ratings, seasons and rewards work on Complex Cobblemon
Short answer: Cobblemon Ranked PvP is a competitive 6v6 singles ladder on Complex Cobblemon (cobblemon.mc-complex.com), and it is open to every player. Type
/ranked queue with 6 Pokemon in your party and you are matched against a player near your rating. Every Pokemon battles at level 100, your real team is never changed, and you climb from Bronze to Master. Seasons last 30 days, and the top 10 players win Gems.

What is Cobblemon Ranked PvP?
The base Cobblemon mod has no ranked ladder. Complex Cobblemon is a Cobblemon PvP server that adds one, with:
- A rating and rank tier: win to climb from Bronze all the way to Master.
- Fair battles: every Pokemon is set to level 100 and fully healed for the match.
- Seasons and rewards: 30-day seasons, Gems for the top 10 and milestones for everyone.
- Replays: a Watch Replay link after each match, kept for 90 days.
How to join Ranked
- Put 6 Pokemon in your party. You need a full team to queue.
- Type /ranked queue. Your team is checked first. If anything is not allowed, you are told exactly what to fix.
- Wait for an opponent. Type /ranked leave to leave the queue at any time.
- When a match is found, you have 50 seconds to confirm with /ranked ready. If a player does not confirm, the match is cancelled with no rating change.
- After a 10-second countdown you are sent to the ranked arena. When the battle ends, you are brought back to where you queued.
💡 Tip: The team in your party when you queue is the team you battle with. Set it up before you type /ranked queue.
Ranked battle rules
| Rule | What it means |
|---|
| Format | Gen 9 singles, 6v6 (shown in game as NatDex Gen 9) |
| Team size | Exactly 6 Pokemon in your party to queue |
| Level | Every Pokemon battles at level 100, whatever its real level |
| Healing | Both teams are fully healed before the battle starts |
| Sleep Clause | You can only put one of your opponent's Pokemon to sleep at a time |
| Bag Clause | No bag items (Potions, Revives and so on) during the battle |
| Terastallization | Not allowed in Ranked |
| Mega Evolution | Allowed, but some Mega Stones are banned |
Your team must also pass a legality check using a National Dex style banlist. Baton Pass, Assist, Last Respects, Shed Tail, Maushold and many of the newest Mega Stones are also banned. New to Megas? Read the
Cobblemon Mega Evolution Guide.
Ratings and rank tiers
Everyone starts each season at
1100 rating. Win to gain rating and lose to drop it. Beating a higher-rated player gives you more. Your tier is based on your current rating:
| Tier | Rating |
|---|
| Bronze | 0 to 1199 (everyone starts here) |
| Silver | 1200 to 1399 |
| Gold | 1400 to 1599 |
| Platinum | 1600 to 1799 |
| Diamond | 1800 to 2099 |
| Master | 2100 and up |
The queue first looks for an opponent within 75 rating of you, then widens the search the longer you wait.
⚠️ Watch out: Rating decay: if you are 1400 or higher and have played at least 3 ranked matches, going 7 days without a ranked match costs you 25 rating. Each extra day you stay inactive costs a little more. Decay never takes you below 1400, and one ranked match stops it.
Ranked seasons
- Each season lasts 30 days and ends at 12:00 PM Eastern time.
- When a new season starts, everyone goes back to 1100 rating.
- Type /ranked hall to open the Hall of Champions. It shows the current top 10, how long the season has left and past season champions.
End of season rewards
When a season ends, the top 10 players by rating win Gems. If you are offline, your reward waits for you and is given the next time you log in.
| Place | Reward |
|---|
| 1st | 100 Gems + a Custom Tag voucher |
| 2nd | 90 Gems |
| 3rd | 75 Gems |
| 4th | 50 Gems |
| 5th | 40 Gems |
| 6th | 30 Gems |
| 7th | 25 Gems |
| 8th | 20 Gems |
| 9th | 15 Gems |
| 10th | 10 Gems |

/ranked claim. Daily ones reset every day, weekly ones every week and season ones each season.

Turn timer and fair play
- Turn timer: you get 45 seconds per turn, with warnings at 15, 10 and 5 seconds. If time runs out, a move is picked for you and you get a strike. After a strike your timer gets shorter (20 seconds, then 10). Run out of time again after 3 strikes and you forfeit.
- Leaving a match: disconnecting or running from a ranked battle counts as a loss, plus an extra 25 rating penalty.
- Same opponent limit: once you beat the same player 5 times in one day, more wins against them that day give no rating.
- Rematch cooldown: the queue will not pair the same two players again for 10 minutes.

Tips for climbing the ladder
- Levels do not matter, builds do: every Pokemon is set to level 100, so focus on IVs, EVs, Natures and movesets. See the Cobblemon Team Building Guide and How to EV Train in Cobblemon.
- Plan without Tera: Terastallization is off in Ranked, so build around Mega Evolution, held items and type coverage instead.
- Practice first: the Gyms and the Battle Tower are great places to test a team.
- Stay active: weekly milestones add up fast, and one match stops rating decay.
