Cobblemon Claiming Guide
How to claim land, add friends and protect your base on Complex Cobblemon and Pixelmon

Short answer: To claim land in Cobblemon on Complex, type /claim and claim the chunks around you. Each claim chunk protects one full chunk (16x16 blocks, from the bottom of the world to the build limit). New players get a Claiming Wand and 3 Claim Chunks, you earn more through playtime, and you can buy extra with coins. Add friends with /trust <player>. The same system runs on Complex Cobblemon (cobblemon.mc-complex.com) and Complex Pixelmon (pixel.mc-complex.com).
⚡ Quick facts
Open the menu: /claim
Claim size: one chunk per Claim Chunk (16x16 blocks, full height)
New players get: a Claiming Wand (blaze rod) and 3 Claim Chunks
Chunk price: Cobblemon: 5,000 coins + 250 per chunk you own. Pixelmon: 1,000 + 100
Claim limit: 2 separate claims by default
Per claim: 8 members and 2 homes, upgradable to 30 members and 6 homes

How to claim land in Cobblemon

  1. Type /claim to open the claim menu. Everything is managed from this menu.
  2. Create a new claim.
  3. Claim the chunks around you. You can also right-click with the Claiming Wand (a blaze rod) to claim the chunk you are standing in.
  4. Check your claims any time with /claim list.
Before you claim, remember:
  • Claims follow chunk borders, not single blocks. Each chunk is 16x16 blocks.
  • The full height of the chunk is protected.
  • You need enough Claim Chunks and a free claim slot.
  • The world must allow claiming.
From the claim menu you can also manage members and ranks, change permissions and settings, buy upgrades, manage claim homes, abandon claims and change your personal claim preferences.

What a claim protects

A claim protects your land from building, breaking, looting and other griefing. Anything outside a claim is public, so other players can:
  • Break or change it.
  • Loot your containers.
  • Build on it or claim it.
You can't claim in the Resource World, seasonal worlds or admin worlds. Don't treat anything there as protected.
⚠️ Watch out: Always claim your builds and valuables before you leave them.

Claim chunks and how to get more

Claim Chunks are the currency you use to claim land. Each chunk you claim uses one Claim Chunk. There are three ways to get them:
  • New player start: a Claiming Wand and 3 Claim Chunks on your first join.
  • Playtime: you earn more Claim Chunks automatically as you play. Check /playtime.
  • Buying: buy more with coins in the /claim menu. The price goes up with every chunk you already own.
ServerPrice for one Claim Chunk
Cobblemon5,000 coins + 250 coins for every chunk you already own
Pixelmon1,000 coins + 100 coins for every chunk you already own
Example: on Cobblemon, if you already own 10 chunks, the next one costs 7,500 coins.
💡 Tip: When you unclaim a chunk or abandon a claim, you get back half of the Claim Chunks it used.

Claim limits and claim slots

You can own 2 separate claims by default. One claim can hold many connected chunks, but a separate protected area needs another claim slot. Extra claim slots come from donor ranks, Dex Ranks and other server progress.
  • Claim Chunks decide how much land you can protect.
  • Claim slots decide how many separate claims you can own.

Claim ranks and permissions

Claim owners can invite players and give them a rank. Each rank decides what that player can do inside the claim. These are the default permissions:
RankWhat they can do by default
BannedBlocked from entering or using the claim
VisitorOpen doors, and battle, capture and send out Pokemon. No building or breaking
InvitedHas a pending invite. Until they accept it, they only have Visitor access
RecruitOpen doors, set claim homes, and battle, capture and send out Pokemon. No building, breaking or containers unless the owner turns them on
MemberBuild and break, open containers, use doors, buttons, levers and other blocks, and do normal Pokemon actions
ModeratorMember access plus inviting players. Owners can trust them with more
AdminHelps run the claim. Depending on permissions: invite, kick, promote or demote members, change settings and manage access
OwnerFull control: every member, rank, permission and setting, upgrades, claim homes, container locks and abandoning the claim
Claims have 37 permissions you can set for each rank in the claim menu. They cover building and breaking, containers, doors, buttons, levers, redstone, signs, damaging mobs, entities, claim utilities, and Pokemon battles, capturing and sending out.
Permissions are set per rank, so a change affects every player with that rank. Only give Admin or Owner access to players you fully trust.

How to add friends to your claim

  • Fast way: type /trust <player> to add them as a Member.
  • From the menu: open /claim, pick your claim, then invite the player and choose their rank.
  • Change a rank: /claim giverank <player> <rank>.
  • Block a player: /claim ban <player>.

Claim settings

Each claim has its own settings, so changing one claim doesn't change your others. You can turn these spawns on or off:
  • Pokemon spawning
  • Boss spawning
  • NPC spawning
  • Animal spawning
  • Mob spawning
All spawning is on by default. For example, you can turn off hostile mob spawning but keep Pokemon and NPC spawning.

Container locking

You can lock a single container to a claim rank. Look at the container and type /claim lock <rank>, using the lowest rank that should have access. Example: /claim lock admin.
To remove the lock, look at the container and type /claim unlock. It then goes back to the normal container permissions for each rank. Only the claim owner can add or change container locks.
Locks are great for personal storage, valuable items and shared supplies in big community claims.

Claim homes

Claim homes are warp points inside a claim, like your entrance, storage room or farm. Each claim starts with 2 claim homes and can be upgraded to 6. Claim homes must be inside the claim they belong to. Teleport to one with /claim home.

Claim upgrade costs

Buy upgrades in the /claim menu with coins. Upgrades are per claim, so pick the right claim before you buy.

Members: 20 to 302,000,000 coins200,000 coins
Member upgrades are useful for towns, teams, clans and shared bases.

Claim borders and messages

  • Borders: particles show the edge of your claim, so you can spot gaps, plan expansions and check that your whole build is protected.
  • Enter and leave messages: chat tells you when you enter or leave a claim, and which claim you are in.
You can turn both on or off in your claim preferences.

How to unclaim or abandon a claim

You can abandon a claim from the /claim menu. When you do:
  • The land loses its protection right away.
  • You get back half of the Claim Chunks it used.
  • Builds and containers are no longer protected.
  • Other players can build, break, loot or claim the area.
  • Claim members lose their access.
⚠️ Watch out: Take out your valuables first. Anything left behind is fair game, and there is no guarantee the land will still be free if you want it back.

Claim safety tips

  • Check that every part of your build is inside the border.
  • Don't give Admin or Owner to players you don't fully trust.
  • Lock personal or high-value containers.
  • Review rank permissions after you promote members.
  • Expand your claim before you build past its border.
  • Check /claim list often if you manage several claims.
