How to get specialty ranks?

Hi there, I'm pretty new only having started a couple days ago and I am a little confused. I saw in the prison guide that I should get a bolter kit pickaxe, problem is I have no clue how to get one. I understand the normal rankup and prestige system, just a little confused on how to get the prisoner ranks and above to bolter. Thanks!

do /store (in-game) for the ranks. they cost real-world money, though.

you can also ask anyone in game who has the prefix bolter if they have any extra picks most of the time they are willing to give them away for free

special ranks like prisonerbolter on vanilla aren’t taken through rankup, you buy them in store, so it’s not always obvious in the guide. if you’re not planning to donate, it’s easier to just ask players with the bolter prefix in chat — that’s how I got an extra pickaxe from the kit a couple times. just when I asked about it, I started getting spam in my DMs from monopolybigballergame.com and it’s actually really distracting.
