Invite friends to your island, give them the right rank and grow together
Short answer: To play Skyblock with friends on Complex Gaming (hub.mc-complex.com), create an island with /is and type /is invite <friend>, and your friend accepts by clicking the invite in chat or typing /is join <your name>. Java and Bedrock players can share the same island. New members start as Recruits, who can't build yet, so promote them with /is promote <friend>. 📖 In this guide
Step 1: Join the server together
- Java: go to Multiplayer, click Add Server and enter hub.mc-complex.com. Any version from 1.8 to the latest works, but the latest is recommended. You can also play through Lunar Client or Feather Client.
- Bedrock (PC and mobile): open the Servers tab, click Add Server and enter hub.mc-complex.com with port 19132. Console players are supported too.
- In the hub, open Skyblock with the compass or the Skyblock NPC.
Step 2: Create your island
One person creates the island. Type /is and create an island, then choose:- Casual: cheaper upgrades and easier levels, up to 8 members. Best for a relaxed group.
- Competitive: compete in Island Top for monthly prizes, up to 10 members. Best for a group that wants to compete. A Competitive island can switch to Casual once, but not back.
- Classic or Oasis: the starting island shape. Oasis is a bit bigger.
Step 3: Invite your friends
- The island owner types /is invite <friend>. You can also use /invite <friend>.
- Your friend clicks the invite message in chat, or types /is join <your name>, to accept.
- Teleport to the island from the /is menu or with /is warp.
Step 4: Give your friends a rank
New members join as Recruits. Recruits can visit and use doors, but they can't place or break blocks or open chests. Promote your friend with /is promote <friend> to make them a Member. Islands start with these ranks:| Rank | What they can do by default |

What island members share
- Island level and milestones: progress from every member who can build counts toward the same milestones. See the Skyblock Island Milestones Guide.
- Island bank: /is bank holds money and Gold Shards for the whole island. By default only the owner can move money, and Admins and up can use the Gold Shard bank.
- Island vault: /is vault is shared storage for Moderators and up by default.
- Island chat: /is chat (or /is c) talks only to your island.
- Island warps: /is setwarp <name> and /is warp <name> for your farms and bases.
- Island Top: on Competitive islands, the whole team climbs the leaderboard together.

No friends online? Find an island
Type /lfi (or /recruitment) to open island recruitment. Islands looking for players list themselves there, and you can apply to join one. Island owners can use the same menu to look for new members. You can also find it at the Recruitment NPC at spawn.Leaving or removing members
- /is leave leaves an island. The owner has to give the island to someone else first with /is transfer <player>.
- /is kick <player> removes a member, and /is ban <player> stops them from coming back.
- On Competitive islands, a player who leaves, is kicked or is banned can't rejoin that island for 72 hours. This doesn't apply to brand new players with less than 2 days of Skyblock playtime.

How do you play Skyblock with friends?
Join a Skyblock server like Complex at hub.mc-complex.com, create an island with /is, and invite your friends with /is invite <name>. They accept by clicking the invite in chat or typing /is join <your name>.
How do you co-op in Skyblock?
On Complex Skyblock, co-op means sharing one island. Invite your friend with /is invite <name>, then promote them so they can build. Everyone on the island shares its level, milestones, bank and vault.
What is a good Skyblock server to play with friends?
Complex Skyblock (hub.mc-complex.com) is free, supports Java and Bedrock crossplay on the same island, and has island teams of up to 10 players, shared island banks, island chat and team events.
Can Java and Bedrock players play Skyblock together?

New members join as Recruits, who can't build. Promote them with /is promote <name>.

Can I play Skyblock with friends for free?
Yes. Complex Skyblock is free to play, and so are islands, invites and Island Top.

How do I accept a Skyblock island invite?
Click the invite message in chat, or type /is join <player> with the name of the player who invited you. On Complex Skyblock you need to have joined Skyblock at least once before anyone can invite you.
Can I be on more than one Skyblock island?
Yes. On Complex Skyblock you can be a member of more than one island and own up to 2 islands yourself, and some ranks can own more.
Can a player rejoin a Competitive island after leaving?
Not for 72 hours. On Complex Skyblock, a player who leaves, is kicked or is banned from a Competitive island can't rejoin it for 72 hours, unless they have less than 2 days of Skyblock playtime.
