Minecraft Jobs Guide
Every job and pay rate on Complex Survival, Skyblock and Factions
Short answer: On Complex Gaming (hub.mc-complex.com), jobs pay you money for things you already do, like mining ores, chopping logs, fishing, farming and slaying mobs. Type
/jobs, pick a job, and your pay builds up in a paycheck you collect from the same menu. Jobs are on Survival, Skyblock and Factions, and each game mode has its own jobs and pay rates. Everyone can hold 1 job (2 with Plus), there are no levels to grind, and you have to keep a job for 24 hours before you can switch.
⚡ Quick facts
Open jobs: /jobs, or the Jobs NPC at spawn
Game modes: Survival (8 jobs), Skyblock (5 jobs), Factions (5 jobs)
Jobs at once: 1, or 2 with Plus
Switching: keep a job for 24 hours before you can drop it
Getting paid: collect your paycheck in /jobs
Levels: none, every action pays a flat rate from your first minute
How jobs work on Complex
Jobs on Complex are custom-built for the network, so they work differently from the jobs plugins on most servers. There's no job XP and no levels. Every action has a flat price, and you earn the full rate from the moment you pick a job.
- Pick a job: type /jobs or click the Jobs NPC at spawn, then click the job you want.
- Do the work: every ore, log, fish, crop or mob that your job pays for adds money to your paycheck.
- Get paid: click the Paycheck in /jobs to move everything you've earned into your balance.
- One payout per action: if you hold two jobs that both pay for the same thing, you're paid once, not twice.
- Separate on each game mode: your job choice and paycheck on Survival are separate from the ones on Skyblock and Factions.
How to pick, switch and leave a job
- Join a job: open /jobs and click any job you don't have. It glows and shows (Selected) once it's yours.
- How many jobs: everyone can hold 1 job. Players with the Plus subscription can hold 2 at once.
- Leaving a job: you have to keep a job for 24 hours after you pick it. After that, click it in /jobs to deselect it. Until then, the job shows how long you still have to wait.
- Switching jobs: deselect your current job once the 24 hours are up, then click the new one. Plus players with a free slot can add a second job at any time.
- If your Plus ends: you drop back to 1 job, and one of your jobs is switched off the next time you join.
- Survival bonus: picking your first job completes the Select a Job task in /milestones (Task Milestones), worth $3,000.
Collecting your paycheck
Job money isn't added to your balance automatically. It waits in your paycheck, which is saved even when you log off. Open
/jobs and look at the Paycheck item at the top of the menu. It shows your Pending Paycheck and your Total Earnings. Click it to collect everything at once. Each job in the menu also shows how much it has earned you, as Claimable and Lifetime.

Survival has the most jobs. Skyblock and Factions share the same five core jobs, each with its own pay rates. Prison doesn't have jobs.

| Cod | $3,125 | $400 | $500 |
Fish caught while you're AFK don't pay.
Farming job
Farming pays a share of each crop's current sell price in
/shop, so your pay goes up and down with the shop price.
| Game mode | Pay per crop harvested |
|---|
| Survival | 20% of the crop's /shop sell price |
| Factions | 20% of the crop's /shop sell price |
| Skyblock | 5% of the crop's /shop sell price |
Crops that pay: wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot, sugar cane, melons, pumpkins, nether wart and sweet berry bushes. On Survival, the Farming job also unlocks bonus drops in the Dragon's Dojo fields.
Slaying job
Slaying pays for monsters in each game mode's PvE area.
| Game mode | Monsters that pay | Pay per kill |
|---|
| Survival | Dragon's Dojo monsters | $750 |
| Skyblock | Pharaoh's Tomb monsters | $1,000 |
| Skyblock | Dungeon monsters | $1,000 |
| Factions | Lightzone monsters | $100 |
On Factions, only Lightzone monsters pay. Darkzone monsters don't count for Slaying.
Survival-only jobs
Head Hunter pays when a mob you kill drops its mob head:
- Hostile mob head: $175
- Passive mob head: $65
- Heads only drop from adult mobs you kill yourself, never from spawner mobs. The drop chance starts at 5% and goes up 2% for each mob tier you reach for that mob, up to 15% at tier 5. See your mob tiers in /spawners.
Builder pays for building:
- Placing a block: $1
- Breaking a block: $0.50 (blocks that already pay for another of your jobs pay that job instead)
- Builder also unlocks bonus drops when you dig Dunes in the Dragon's Dojo.
Traveler pays for every block you move:
- Swimming: $0.10 per block
- Walking: $0.05 per block
- Flying: $0.03 per block
- Moving while AFK and falling straight down don't pay.
Events is tracked automatically, so you can't select it. Instead of money, it earns Guild Top points for your guild:
- Domination win: 100 points per member
- Last Man Standing win: 100 points for the winner's guild
- Boss killed: 25 points to the top damager
- Envoy opened: 5 points per envoy
Job bonus drops in the Dojo
On Survival, the Dragon's Dojo has farming areas with mines, forests, fields, a pond and Dunes. Gathering there with the matching job active gives you a chance at bonus drops. Without that job, you don't get them.
| Job | Where | Bonus drops you can find |
|---|
| Mining | Dojo mines | Gold Shards, Money Pouches, Metal Detector loot |
| Logging | Dojo forests | Treasure Keys, Gold Shards, Crate Keys |
| Fishing | Dojo pond | Treasure Keys, Gold Shards, Experience Pouches, Boosters |
| Farming | Dojo fields | Treasure Keys, Gold Shards, Money Pouches, Spawner Frames |
| Builder | Dojo Dunes | Treasure Keys, Gold Shards, Money Pouches, Metal Detector loot |
Your job in
/jobs shows how many of each bonus drop you've found, in total and today. On Skyblock, Pharaoh's Realm bonus drops don't need a job.
Job boosters and Guild Top
Job pay has no Sunday or weekend bonus. The only way to boost it is a guild
Job Payment Booster on Survival, which raises the job pay of everyone in your guild:
- Guild Top win: a random 1.3x guild booster for 1 week, which can be a Job Payment Booster.
- Warzone pond capture: a random 1.25x guild booster for 3 hours, which can be a Job Payment Booster.
Guild Top is a weekly race on Survival based on the money each guild earns from every job. Check it with
/guild top. It resets every Monday at 00:00 UTC (Sunday 8 PM ET, 7 PM ET in winter), and for each job the guild that earned the most wins:
- $200M and 25 GC for the guild Owner
- +1 Reset Vault Slot Voucher, claimed from the Guild Top menu
- One random 1.3x guild booster for 1 week: Sell, Head Drop Chance, Job Payment, mcMMO or Exp
Anti-abuse rules
- Placed ores and logs: ores and logs that a player placed don't pay when you break them.
- Lava generators (Survival): stone, cobblestone and obsidian freshly made by lava don't pay.
- AFK: fishing and Traveler don't pay while you're AFK.
- Head Hunter: spawner mobs and baby mobs never drop heads.
- Two jobs, one payout: an action that pays for two of your jobs is only paid once.
Best jobs for money
How much you earn depends on how fast you can repeat each action, but here's where the biggest rates are:
- Survival: Fishing has the biggest payouts, from $3,125 for cod up to $18,750 for tropical fish. Slaying pays $750 for every Dojo monster, and Logging pays a flat $170 for any log. If you farm in the Dragon's Dojo, pick the job that matches your area, because it also unlocks Treasure Keys, Gold Shards and other bonus drops.
- Skyblock: Slaying pays $1,000 for every Pharaoh's Tomb or Dungeon monster. Fishing pays up to $2,000 per catch, and Logging pays up to $400 for cherry logs.
- Factions: Fishing pays up to $2,500 per catch, and Mining pays up to $400 for emerald ore.
- With Plus: pick two jobs that pay for different things, like Fishing and Slaying, since an action is only paid once even if both jobs cover it.
