Complex Cobblemon runs on Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1, and you join using our official modpack, which installs everything you need automatically. You need a valid Minecraft Java account to play.

Option 1: CurseForge

1. Download the CurseForge app.
2. Install the Complex Cobblemon modpack by clicking "Install Via App".
3. Click Play to launch the game.
4. Go to Multiplayer and join cobblemon.mc-complex.com.

Option 2: Modrinth

1. Download the Modrinth app.
2. Open Complex Cobblemon on Modrinth and click Play.
3. Confirm the install in the Modrinth app, then click Play. You'll be sent straight into the server!

When you first join Complex Cobblemon, you'll arrive at spawn. Here's how to start your journey:

• Pick your starter: Right-click the starter NPC at spawn, or press M, to choose your first Pokemon.
• Read the rules: Use /rules to see the server rules.
• Explore spawn: Holograms around spawn explain the server's features, and you'll find the PokeCenter and PokeMart nearby.
• Trainer Journey: Use /journey to follow your first-week objectives and earn rewards as you learn the server.
• Rookies Leaderboard: Use /rookies to compete against other new players.
• Find a home: Use /rtp to teleport to a random spot in the Overworld (the permanent world for your base), the Resource World (resets on the 1st of every month, no claims) or Ultraspace.
• Claim your land: Use /claim to protect your base. You earn one claim chunk per hour of playtime and can buy more with coins. See our Claiming Guide for details.
• Set your homes: Use /sethome <name> to save locations and /home <name> to return.

Complex Cobblemon has all 18 gyms, one for every type, plus the Elite Four, and plenty of ways to test your team:

• Gyms: Use /gyms to see every NPC and player gym, /badges to track your badge progress, and /gym rules to check battle requirements.
• Elite Four: Use /e4 to find the Elite Four members once you're ready.
• Battle Tower: Take on progressively harder battles with three Pokemon for rewards at /warp battletower.
• Battle Cafe: A Cobblemon-exclusive daily challenge with five different challenge areas.
• Tournaments: An automated tournament runs every 4 hours. Join with /tournament.
• Ranked: Climb the live PvP ladder with /ranked and earn gems.
• Boss battles: Take on world bosses with /boss battle and see their loot with /boss loot.

Legendary Pokemon spawn for free in the wild on Complex Cobblemon, so every trainer has a shot at catching one.

• Legendary spawns: Use /ll to see recently spawned rare and legendary Pokemon.
• Legendary trust: Use /legendary trust add <player> to let friends catch legendaries you're battling.
• Hunts: Start a hunt of any difficulty with /hunt for rewards.
• Bingo: Catch the Pokemon on your /bingo board. The faster you finish, the better the rewards.
• Pokedex: Track your progress with /dex and /dex remaining. Filling your Pokedex unlocks free Dex Ranks (see Ranks below).

Dungeons are the newest addition to Complex Cobblemon! Battle your way through Dungeons to earn Dungeon Coins, a Dungeons-only currency you spend on exclusive Dungeon rewards. Dungeon Coins can't be traded, so every reward is earned. Check out our Dungeons guides on the wiki for scoring and full reward lists.

Complex Cobblemon has a player-driven economy with three currencies:

• Coins: The main currency for shops, the PokeBuilder, contracts, hunts and most features. Check your balance with /bal.
• Gems: A rare premium currency you earn by playing, which can be converted into Gift Cards for the store.
• Dungeon Coins: Earned and spent only in Dungeons.

Buy and sell through the /shop (PokeMart), the Auction House (/ah) and the Global Trade Station (/gts), the main Pokemon marketplace.

Ways to make money:

• Beginner: Jobs (/jobs), Contracts (/contracts), Hunts, Bingo, Present Hunts (/presenthunt), Playtime Rewards (/playtime), PokeStops and daily voting (/vote).
• Intermediate: Gyms, the Battle Tower, the Battle Cafe and your own player shop (/chestshop and /pwarps).
• Gems: Ranked battles, weekly Research (/research), weekly leaderboards, tournaments and trading.

Complex Cobblemon has two types of ranks:

• Dex Ranks (free): Earned by completing your Pokedex. Trainer (10%), Prodigy (30%), Professor (50%), Healer (70%) and PokeMaster (100%), each with its own kit and rewards. PokeMaster unlocks /pc, /fly, a Legendary Pokemon Spin and a Master Ball!
• Donor Ranks: Ace, Elite, Master, Legend, Champion and Omega, available on our store.

Team up with friends in a clan with /clans. Complete clan missions together, unlock clan upgrades and grow stronger as a group. Check out the Clans guides on our wiki for basics, upgrades and activities.

• PokeBuilder: Use /pb to modify your Pokemon's IVs, EVs, nature, ability and more.
• Pokemon info: Use /pwiki <pokemon> to see a Pokemon's stats, moves and spawn locations, and /ivs or /evs to check your Pokemon.
• Show off your team: Type {team} or {pokemon1} in chat to share your Pokemon.

Always use /safetrade <player> when trading items, currency or Pokemon with other players, so both sides are protected. You can also list and buy Pokemon on the /gts, or try your luck with /wondertrade. For more tips, use /safetradeguide in game.
