How money works on a Skyblock server​

Most Skyblock servers have an in-game money currency you earn by selling what your island produces. On Complex Skyblock, that's IGM (in-game money), and you can check your balance with /bal.
The Complex Skyblock shop uses a dynamic economy: the more an item is sold, the lower its price drops, and the less it's sold, the higher its price climbs. If everyone is selling potatoes, switch to carrots. Watching what sells well is one of the easiest ways to earn more.

Early game: how to make your first money​

1. Vote every day: type /vote and vote on every site. Each vote gives you a free vote key, and every 500 server votes a vote party gives everyone who voted an extra key (/vp). Voting is one of the biggest boosts a new island can get.
2. Start a crop farm: farming is the classic Skyblock starter. Sweet berry farms are one of the most popular choices on Complex Skyblock.
3. Pick a job: type /jobs and choose one. You earn free money for doing that job while you play.
4. Go fishing: fishing is an easy, steady earner from day one.
5. Claim free rewards: /dailies gives you money and experience pouches, and /warp quests has quests for free money, spawners and more.

• The Pharaoh's Realm: unlock it as an island upgrade, then build an Ancient Portal from eight Ancient Artifacts to reach a realm with even more money and resources.

Casual islands have cheaper upgrades and are built for a relaxed, solo-friendly experience, so they're the best pick for new players. A Competitive island can be converted to Casual once, but a Casual island can never become Competitive.
