What Is GC on Complex Gaming? How to Get, Use and Earn Free GC (2026)

Short answer: GC (Gift Card) is Complex Gaming's store credit. 1 GC is worth $1 on our store at https://store.mc-complex.com/. Check your balance with /gc on any Complex server (hub.mc-complex.com). You can turn GC into a store gift card code, spend it with other players on the auction house, or bid with it at the Time Traveler. You can also earn GC for free by winning weekly leaderboards, Island Top, PvP Top, Gang Top, Faction Top, Guild Top, events and Discord giveaways. GC is never wiped when a server resets.

What is GC?​

GC stands for Gift Card. It's your Complex Store gift card balance, kept inside the game so you can use it while you play. 1 GC is worth $1 of store credit.

• One balance everywhere: your GC is the same on Skyblock, Prison, Factions and Survival.
• Never wiped: GC carries over every season reset, along with your ranks and tags.
• Not the same as in-game money: each game mode has its own money (/bal), which resets with the season. GC is separate and stays.

How to check your GC​

Type /gc (or /giftcard) to open the Giftcards menu. It shows:

• Information: your GC balance.
• Transaction History: every gift card code you've made or redeemed, with click-to-copy codes.
• Withdraw GC and Redeem GC, explained below.

Turn on Display GC Balance in /prefs if you want other players to see your GC when they hover over your name in chat or view your profile.

How to withdraw and redeem GC​

• Withdraw: in /gc, click Withdraw GC and enter an amount. You get a store gift card code worth that much. Use the code on the store or give it to a friend. You can withdraw up to 900 GC per code, in whole numbers.
• Redeem: in /gc, click Redeem GC and enter a gift card code. Whatever value is left on it is added to your GC balance, and the code can't be used again.

How to spend GC​

• On the store: withdraw a gift card code in /gc, then use it at checkout on https://store.mc-complex.com/ for ranks, crate keys and more.
• Time Traveler: bid GC on past seasonal crate items, tags and cosmetics at /warp timetraveler. It shows up every Wednesday and Saturday on Skyblock, and every Saturday on Prison, Factions and Survival. Bidding lasts 24 hours, nobody can see your bid, and if you don't win, your GC is refunded automatically. A few Survival items are bid with in-game money instead, and items you win are collected from the Time Traveler 14 days into the season.
• Auction house: list an item for GC with /ah sell <price> gc, or buy items other players listed for GC. Listing for GC costs a 2% fee, which is free for Plus members and during weekend events.
• Bid Wars: live auctions between players that you can price in GC. Open them with /bidwars or from /market.
• Item Hauls: post a request to buy items in bulk with /itemhauls, and choose GC as the payment.
• Claim trading (Survival): buy and sell land claims for GC with /claimtrading.

Free ways to earn GC​

You don't have to spend real money to get GC. These all pay GC to players who compete:

Every game mode​

• Weekly leaderboards (/lb): place in the top 10 of any leaderboard category to earn points. Every Monday at 00:00 UTC (Sunday evening in the US), the top 12 players win GC: 50, 40, 35, 30, 25, 20, 15, 10, 10, 5, 5 and 5. Some categories give double points each week, and the more categories you compete in, the more points you earn.
• Events (/events): staff run events that give away GC all the time.
• Discord giveaways: we give away GC in our Discord at https://discord.gg/ComplexVanilla.
• Trade with players: sell items for GC on the auction house, in Bid Wars or to Item Hauls.
