Prison Private Mines and Plots Guide (2026)

Short answer: On Complex Prison (hub.mc-complex.com), a private mine is your own copy of a mine that only refills for you. Get time with a 1h Private Mine Voucher from the Shard Merchant (1,024 Gold Shards + 1.5M XP, Prestige I or higher), then open /privatemines. Your time counts down whenever you're online anywhere on Prison. Gangs at gang level 15 can unlock a shared gang private mine. Every player can also create a free plot with /plot to build, set warps and run chest shops.

How to get a private mine​

• Buy a voucher: the 1h Private Mine Voucher costs 1,024 Gold Shards + 1.5M XP at the Shard Merchant on Skull Island tiers 2 and 3. See the Prison Gold Shards Guide.
• Reach Prestige I: you need Prestige I or higher to redeem the voucher.
• Redeem it: right-click the voucher to add 1 hour to your private mine time. Redeeming more vouchers stacks the time.
• Open it: type /privatemines and click Personal Private Mine, or go straight to your mine's menu with /playerprivatemines (/ppmine).

Your private mine copies the blocks of a real mine. By default that's your highest mine, so at Prestige I or higher it's your current prestige mine.

How private mine time works​

Your private mine time counts down whenever you're online anywhere on Prison, not only while you're standing in your mine. If you redeem a voucher and then go to spawn, Skull Island or your plot, the clock keeps running.

• When it pauses: when you log off, and while you're inside a gang event mine.
• When it runs out: you get the message "Your private mine has expired" and you're sent to spawn.
• Tip: redeem your voucher right before a long mining session, and stay in your mine until the hour is up.

Managing your private mine​

Open /privatemines, then Personal Private Mine. The menu shows whether your mine is active and how long is left.

• Auto-reset: your mine refills on its own once your reset percentage is mined, at most once a minute, and you're lifted to the top of the mine.
• Shared cooldown: the Reset Your Mine button shares its cooldown with /resetmine in the public mines.
• Changing your mine: picking a different mine rebuilds your private mine, and anyone inside it is sent to spawn.
• Reboots: the Private Mines menu also shows when the private mines server will next reboot.

Inside your private mine​

• You can only break blocks inside the mine itself, and you can't place blocks or open chests.
• You can't take damage and there's no PvP. Keep inventory is on and mobs don't spawn.
• You get Night Vision automatically, unless you've turned Night Vision off.
• Stand on a sea lantern to get launched upward.
• Elytra firework boosts don't work in private mines.

Gang private mine​

A gang private mine is a private mine your whole gang can use. Once your gang reaches gang level 15, unlock it for 15,000,000 tokens with the Gang Private Mine upgrade. Open it with /gangprivatemines (/gpmine), or click Gang Private Mine in /privatemines. See the Prison Gangs Guide for gang levels.

• Upkeep: your gang keeps the mine open with Gold Shards. Click Private Mine Duration to buy 15 minutes of upkeep from your own Gold Shards, 128 shards by default.
• Sell bonus: with the Gang Mine Sell Bonus upgrade, members get up to +5% sell price while they're in the gang private mine.
• Member limit: 1 member can be inside at a time by default. If the mine is full, the next member gets a message to upgrade Gang Mine Max Players.
• Force reset: any member can refill the gang mine from the menu once every 20 minutes by default. Someone has to be inside the gang mine for it to reset.
• Reset percentage: set it from 15% to 100%, like a personal private mine.

Gang private mine upgrades are paid in tokens, and members can chip in toward an upgrade:

Creating your plot​

A plot is your own island world on Prison where you can build, decorate, set warps and run shops. Creating one is free.

1. Type /plot (or /p, /plots) to open the plot menu, or /plot create.
2. Pick your plot type: Tropical Island (a humble seaside hut) or Grass Plot (a blank canvas).
3. You're teleported to your new plot's home.

• How many plots: every player can own 1 plot, and higher store ranks can own more.
• Cooldown: after creating a plot, you have to wait 5 minutes before creating another of the same type.
• More than one plot: you can be a member of other players' plots too. Pin your favorite in the plot menu, then use /plot go to teleport to it.

Plot members and permissions​

Invite players with /plot invite <player> (or /trust <player>). They accept with /plot join <your name>. A plot holds 10 members to start.
Plot ranks from lowest to highest: Recruit, Member, Moderator, Admin, Owner. Default permissions:

• Visitors: can use doors, furniture, enchanting tables and villager trades, drop and pick up items, set homes and use rune abilities. They can't build, break or open chests.
• Recruit: the same as visitors by default.
• Member and up: place and break blocks, open containers, use buttons, levers, pressure plates and redstone, and interact with animals.
• Moderator and up: invite players and break spawners.
• Admin and up: kick, ban, promote and demote, change settings, set warps, manage the whitelist, use /plot inspect and open shop chests.
• Owner: everything, plus /plot transfer and /plot disband.

Admins can change these in /plot permissions. Talk to your plot members privately with /plot chat.

Plot upgrades​

Plot upgrades are bought with tokens in /plot upgrades, and members can chip in.

Plot settings, locked plots and visitors​

Open /plot settings to change how your plot works. PvP, fire spread, explosions, rain, Plot Locked and the whitelist all start off.

• PvP, Fire Spread, Explosions and Raining: turn each one on or off.
• Biome: change your plot's biome while you're standing on it.
• Plot Icon and colors: set the icon and the primary and secondary colors shown for your plot.
• Plot Locked: keeps visitors out. Only your plot members (Recruit and up) can enter a locked plot. Visitors who try get "This plot is locked to visitors", and anyone already inside who isn't a member is sent to spawn.
• Whitelist: lets you allow specific visitors in, for good or for a set time, with /plot whitelist add <player>. Turn it on with /plot whitelist on.
• Banned players: players you ban from your plot are sent to spawn if they're on it.

To see another player's plots, use /plot visit <player>.

Warps and chest shops on your plot​

• Warps: /plot setwarp <name> sets a warp where you stand, and /plot warp <name> takes you there. Public warps can be sorted into Home, Shop, Games, Arena or Parkour.
• Player warps: anyone can browse public plot warps with /pwarps (/pw).
• Chest shops: place a chest, then put a sign on it with [shop] on the first line to set up a shop. Higher store ranks can run more chest shops. See the Chest Shop Guide.
• Shop chests are protected: by default only plot Admins and the Owner can open shop chests and the hoppers connected to them.

Play Prison on Java or Bedrock​

Java and Bedrock players share the same Prison with full crossplay. Bedrock players pick their plot type from a pop-up form.
