Dungeons Guide
Tiers, parties, bosses, perks, upgrades and loot on Complex Prison, Skyblock and Survival
Short answer: Dungeons are randomly built co-op runs on Complex Prison, Skyblock and Survival (hub.mc-complex.com). Type
/dungeon, pick the Overworld, Nether or End dungeon, and fight through rooms of custom mobs, traps and puzzles to a boss, solo or in a party of up to 5. You earn Dungeon Coins, Dungeon XP and boss chest loot, then spend coins in the Dungeon Shop on boosts, cosmetics, crate keys and gamemode items. Each gamemode has its own dungeon progress.

🆕 New in recent Dungeon updates
- Wayfinder: a new item that lays a glowing path to the closest unopened door, or to the boss portal.
- Mob tiers: every mob now shows its tier on its nameplate, with a health bar that changes color as it drops.
- Lucky Rolls: now goes up to level 15, and its odds stack much harder toward top perk levels.
- Mastery: bigger mastery rewards, and boss kills now count for the whole party.
- Party Teleporter: now lists every party member who's still alive.
- Random Crate Key: can now be opened anywhere, not just in dungeons.
How to start a dungeon
- Type /dungeon or click the DUNGEONS NPC at spawn to open the Dungeon Selector, then click a tier.
- Solo: your first solo run is a short tutorial dungeon that gives 250 Dungeon XP. Skip it with /dungeon skiptutorial.
- Party: only the party leader can start. Everyone gets a "Ready to enter?" prompt and has 30 seconds to answer with /yes or /no. The run starts with whoever said yes.
- Open Queue: right-click a tier, or use the OPEN QUEUE NPC, to team up with other players. It starts right away with 5 players, or after 3 minutes with 2 or more. Leave with /dungeon leavequeue.
- Party Finder: use /partyfinder or the PARTY FINDER NPC to make or join a party listing.
You can't start a dungeon from a PvE area (like the Tomb, Skull Island or the Dojo), or in the last 60 seconds before a reboot. Leave a run any time with
/dungeon leave or
/spawn.
Dungeon Coins, levels, upgrades and mastery are separate for Prison, Skyblock and Survival, and they reset each season. Prison dungeons are tougher, with stronger mobs and harder-hitting abilities.
Dungeon tiers and Weekly Passes
| Tier | Difficulty | Rooms | Entry | XP | Perk picks | Death tax |
|---|
| Overworld Dungeon | Easy | 20 | Free | 1x | 1 | 15% |
| Nether Dungeon | Medium | 30 | Weekly Pass, 100,000 coins | 1.5x | 2 | 25% |
| End Dungeon | Hard | 45 | Weekly Pass, 200,000 coins | 2x | 3 | 50% |
- Buy a Weekly Pass by left-clicking the Nether or End icon in the Dungeon Selector, or with /dungeon pass buy nether or /dungeon pass buy end. A pass lasts 7 days, and buying again adds 7 more. Check yours with /dungeon pass status.
- Every member of your party needs their own pass.
How a dungeon run works
- Pick perks. You start in the spawn room. Click the SELECT PERKS NPC and choose your perks within 30 seconds. In a party, the leader clicks START DUNGEON once everyone is ready.
- Clear rooms. Right-click doors to open them. A room's doors stay locked until you finish its objective.
- Find the boss portal. It appears on a door once 60% of the rooms have been built. Walking in takes the whole party to the boss room, revives dead teammates and repairs everyone's items.
- Kill the boss, claim your boss chest and leave through the EXIT portal.
Room objectives: kill every mob, find a hidden button, answer a riddle in chat, hold all the pressure plates at once, find matching pairs, repeat a memory sequence, flip levers in order, cross an ice path or finish a parkour room.
Traps: Overworld rooms have spike, poison, poison rain, slowness, vine and boulder traps. You need a Trap Disarmer to remove one.
Powerups: every mob kill has a 4% chance to drop a powerup orb that gives the whole party 30 seconds of Speed Boost, Strength Boost (+30% damage), Regeneration, Resistance, Double Coins or Infinite Arrows.
Room rewards: clearing a room gives everyone coins and a random item, like a booster, Insta Heal, Arrow Bundle, Mob Scanner, Trap Reveler or Repair Kit. Barrels, Treasure Barrels and Gold Piles hold more items and coins, and some rooms spawn a Dungeon Shop NPC.
Dungeon events: rarely, a run offers you an opt-in event with extra risk: Glass Cannon (+50% damage dealt and taken), or Treasure Rain, Reaper's Toll and Cursed Halls, which pay big coin rewards. You have 20 seconds to accept.
There's no time limit, but faster runs climb the Speed Run leaderboard.
/dungeon settings lets you hide non-party chat, door holograms and hints.
Dungeon mobs and bosses
Every mob's nameplate shows its tier, and its health bar turns from green to yellow to red as it drops.
| Marker | Tier |
|---|
| ▪ | Minion |
| ◆ | Common |
| ✦ | Elite |
| ☠ | Mini-Boss |
| ♛ | Boss |
Kill healers first: the Soul Vampire, Void Priest, Nether Priest, Warped Druid, Crimson Cultist, Chorus Priest and Crystal Priest all heal themselves or their allies. Mobs and bosses get more health in bigger parties. Browse every mob, its stats and your kill count in
/dungeon under Dungeon Info, Dungeon Mobs.
| Tier | Bosses |
|---|
| Overworld | Ashen Titan, Forest Warden, Stormcaller Wraith, Crystalborne Colossus, Sandsworn Pharaoh |
| Nether | Molten King, Ghast Queen, Nether Lich, Crimson Wyrm, Piglin Warlord, Hoglin Tyrant, Soul Harvester, Fortress Overlord, Bastion King, Warped Sovereign |
| End | Abyssal Warden, Chorus Lord, Crystal Titan, Dragon Heir, Dragon Revenant, End Reaper King, Ender Sorceress, Shulker Matriarch, Void Archon, Void Banshee Queen |
Each run picks one boss at random from its tier. Most bosses fight in several phases, and every End boss has a shield you have to break, like shattering crystals or destroying soul orbs, before it takes full damage.
Dying, reviving and failing
- Death tax: when you die, you drop part of the coins you've earned that run (15%, 25% or 50% by tier) as a glowing pile only you can pick back up. The Coin Keeper upgrade lowers it.
- Reviving: you become a spectator next to your corpse. A teammate can revive you by clicking your corpse and staying within 6 blocks for 12 seconds, or instantly with a Revive Token.
- Failing: if every party member is dead, the run fails. You keep 25% of the run's XP but lose 75% of the run's coins. Leaving mid-run also costs 75% of the run's coins.
- Once the boss is dead, dying can't fail the run.
Dungeon Coins, XP and boss chests
Dungeon Coins drop from every mob kill, and each party member gets their own drop. Coins also come from room clears, barrels, gold piles and the boss chest.
- Coin bonuses: the Treasure Hunter upgrade and perk, Plus rank (1.2x on mob, barrel and gold pile coins), the Double Coins powerup and your backpack (+1% per backpack tier; on Prison, skull backpacks only).
- Seasonal item tax: each seasonal rune item you carry over the limit (4 Overworld, 5 Nether, 6 End, shulkers included) cuts coin pickups by 5%. The ready prompt warns you.
- Completion Bonus: beating the boss pays extra coins based on how many rooms you cleared: at 70%, 80% and 94%, Overworld pays 188 / 375 / 563, Nether 375 / 750 / 1,125 and End 563 / 1,125 / 1,688.
Boss chests: every player gets their own private copy of the boss chest, with coins and items: Overworld coin drops of 263 to 788, Nether 368 to 1,103 and End 647 to 1,936 each, plus boosters, Insta Heals, XP Boosts, Arrow Bundles, Mob Scanners, Revive Tokens and Repair Kits. Bigger parties mean more drops for everyone, and there's a 20% chance the chest holds a Wayfinder. On Prison, boss chests also pay 2,400 to 10,800 Tokens and can hold a Mana Refill voucher.
Dungeon XP: you earn XP for every room cleared and every mob you kill, times the tier's XP multiplier. Your Dungeon Level unlocks perks, shop items and cosmetics.
/sunday gives +50% dungeon XP on Sundays (Plus players get Saturdays too), and a full Hoppy Days set raises it to +60%.
Dungeon perks
At the start of every run you pick perks: 1 in the Overworld, 2 in the Nether and 3 in the End, plus more from the Extra Perks upgrade. Each pick offers 3 random perks at a random level you've unlocked. Reopen the menu with
/openperk.
| Type | Perks |
|---|
| Damage | Mob Slayer, Boss Slayer, First Strike, Critical Strike |
| Defense | Iron Skin, Endurance, Fortitude, Second Wind, Last Stand |
| Healing | Regeneration, Lifesteal, Team Support |
| Movement | Swift Feet, Adrenaline Rush, Quick Entry |
| Traps | Trap Resistance, Trap Evasion |
| Rewards and utility | Treasure Hunter (more coins), Veteran (more XP), Arrow Saver, Rapid Recovery |
| Nether only | Hellforged Edge, Blazeborn, Soul Harvest |
| End only | Void Strider, Dragon's Wrath, Ender Resonance |

/dungeon quiver, outside dungeon servers).
Dungeon mastery
Claim mastery rewards in
/dungeon mastery.
- Completion mastery: 13 milestones per tier for finishing dungeons (from 1 to 1,000 Overworld, 800 Nether or 600 End clears). The top milestones pay up to 1,500,000, 2,250,000 and 3,000,000 coins plus the same amount of XP and items.
- Mob mastery: 9 milestones for each mob group in each tier (Minions, Mobs, Elites, Mini-Bosses and Bosses), paying coins, XP and items. Nether rewards are 1.5x and End rewards are 2x.
