Survival Guilds Guide
Create a guild, build a town together and win Guild Top on Complex Survival
Short answer: To make a guild on Complex Survival (hub.mc-complex.com), type
/guild create <name>, design your guild banner, then invite friends with
/guild invite <player>. They accept with
/guild join <guild name>. Creating a guild is free. A guild starts with room for 20 players (up to 50 with upgrades) and gets a shared bank, a shared vault, daily Guild Missions and a shot at the weekly Guild Top. To build a town together, build on a claim and set its
Default Guild Member Rank so every guildmate can build there without a separate invite.

How to create a guild
- Join Survival and type /guild create <name>. You can also type /guild and click Create Guild.
- Design your guild banner in the banner editor that opens. It becomes your guild's icon in every menu.
- Your guild is made and the guild menu opens. You are the Owner.
Guild names can be up to 16 characters, use only letters and numbers, must be unique and can't contain inappropriate words. Creating a guild costs nothing, and you can only be in one guild at a time.
Once you're in a guild,
/guild opens the guild menu. From there you reach the Guild Bank, Guild Vault, Guild Top, Upgrades, Missions, Claims, Warps, Logs, Settings, Permissions, Members and your guild's statistics and active boosters.
How to join a guild
- With an invite: a guild Moderator or higher types /guild invite <you>. Accept with /guild join <guild name>, or type /guild, open Guild Invites and left-click to accept (right-click declines).
- With no invite: type /recruitment (also /recruit, /lfg or /guild recruitment). Recruiting guilds list themselves there, and players looking for a guild can fill out a short profile (time zone, Discord name, hours per week, Minecraft knowledge, interests and past guilds) and apply. There is also a "Looking for a Guild?" board at spawn showing how many guilds are recruiting and how many players are searching.
- Look a guild up first: /guild who <guild or player> shows a guild's members, and /guild list lists guilds by how many members are online.
New members join at the
Member rank. You can't join a guild that is already at its member limit.
Guild ranks and permissions
Guilds have five ranks. In guild chat each rank shows a symbol: Owner
***, Admin
**, Moderator
*, Member
+ and Recruit
-. This is what each rank can do by default:
| Rank | What they can do by default |
|---|
| Owner | Everything, including making someone else Owner and disbanding the guild |
| Admin | Promote and demote, edit rank permissions, change guild settings, manage Guild Warps, reroll missions, and claim Mission and Guild Top rewards, plus everything a Moderator can do |
| Moderator | Invite and kick, withdraw from the bank, buy upgrades, open the Guild Vault and manage recruitment, plus everything a Member can do |
| Member | Deposit into the Guild Bank, use guild chat and start Guild Missions |
| Recruit | The same as Member by default. Use it as a trial rank and give it fewer permissions if you like |
Change ranks from
Guild Members in
/guild: click a member and pick their new rank. You can't promote anyone to your own rank or higher, and you can only kick or demote players below you. You can also give each member a custom title of up to 16 characters.
To change what a rank can do, open
Guild Permissions in
/guild. Players with the Promote/Demote permission can toggle permissions for any rank below their own, as long as they have that permission themselves.
Guild bank and guild vault
- Guild Bank: a shared balance for money and experience. Open it from /guild and type an amount like 1500 or 1.5m. Every rank can deposit by default, and Moderators and up can withdraw. The bank starts with a $10M limit, and the same limit applies to stored experience. Raise it with the Guild Bank Limit upgrade.
- Guild Vault: a shared chest for gear and items. Open it with /guild vault or the shortcut /gv. It starts with 9 slots and upgrades to 54. Moderators and up can open it by default. Only one member can use it at a time, and it can't be opened while combat tagged, in the Dragon's Dojo or in Duels.
- Guild Logs: every deposit, withdrawal, vault change, upgrade, permission change, join, leave and kick is recorded in /guild logs.
Guild upgrades and costs
Open upgrades with
/guild upgrades. Moderators and up can buy them by default, and the money comes from the buyer's own balance, not the Guild Bank.

|---|
| Guild Members | 20 (start), 30, 40, 50 members | $500M, $1B, $5B |
| Guild Vault | 9 (start), 18, 27, 36, 45, 54 slots | $5M, $10M, $25M, $50M, $100M |
| Guild Bank Limit | $10M (start), $100M, $500M, $1B, $10B, $100B | $3M, $15M, $30M, $300M, $3B |
| mcMMO Experience Boost | 1.2x, 1.4x, 1.6x, 1.8x, 2.0x mcMMO XP | $250M, $500M, $750M, $1B, $2B |
| Auction House Fee | 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50% off listing fees | $5M, $10M, $25M, $50M, $100M |
| Mission Amount | 1 (start), 2, 3 daily missions | $50M, $100M |
| Mission Reroll | Reroll one mission per day | $250M (one time) |
| Dragon's Dojo Mob Resistance | 10 levels, less damage from Dojo mobs | $2.5M, doubling each level to $1.28B |
Upgrade boosts apply to every member of the guild.
Build a guild town on your claims
Survival is a long-term world, so most guilds build a shared town: a base, farms, shops and homes for every member. Land on Survival is protected with claims, and a claim is owned by one player. Guilds share claims through guild access settings.
- Make a claim. One member, usually the Owner, types /claim profile and clicks the emerald block. Then type /claims and left-click chunks on the map to claim them.
- Pay for land with Claim Chunks. Each Overworld chunk uses 1 Claim Chunk, a Nether chunk uses 10 and an End chunk uses 5. Buy Claim Chunks from the /claims menu. Each one costs $5,000 plus $250 for every Claim Chunk you already own or hold, so land gets a little pricier as your town grows. Some ranks get up to 15% off.
- Let your guild in. Open the claim's Permissions menu and set the Default Guild Member Rank. Every member of the claim owner's guild who isn't already a claim member gets that rank's permissions. It starts at Visitor, so change it to Member to let guildmates build, break blocks and open chests. Guildmates added this way don't use up the claim's member slots.
- Give key players more. Invite trusted players directly with /claim invite <player> and give them a claim rank. Claim Moderators can also break spawners and invite players, and claim Admins can claim land, set warps and use the claim's Gold Shard bank.
- Add Guild Warps. Create a claim warp (see the Survival guide). If you own the claim and have the Manage Guild Warps permission, open the warp's settings and set Guild Member Warp Access to the lowest guild rank that should use it. The warp then shows under Guild Warps in /guild for members of that rank and up. Guild Warps can't be used from inside the Dragon's Dojo.
Guild access follows the claim owner's guild. If the claim owner leaves the guild, guildmates lose their default access, so keep your town claim on a player who is staying.
Claims have their own upgrades in the claim menu:
| Claim upgrade | Levels | Cost per level |
|---|
| Claim Members | 5 (start), 10, 15, 20, 25 | $25M, $50M, $250M, $500M |
| Warps | 3 (start), 5, 8, 10 | $10M, $20M, $30M |
| Public Warps | 1 (start), 2, 3 | $500M, $1B |
| Gold Shard Bank | 500 (start), 2,500, 5,000, 10,000, 15,000, 25,000 shards | $25M, $50M, $250M, $1B, $2.5B |
Want visitors in your town's market? Make a warp public so it shows on
/pw, and set up shops with the
Chest Shop Guide.
Guild Missions
Guild Missions are daily team goals. Open
/guild missions and click an empty slot to start one. Any member can start a mission, and the whole guild's progress counts. You get 24 hours to finish it. Each mission slot frees up 24 hours after the mission was finished, or right away if time ran out. Guilds start with 1 mission slot and can unlock up to 3.
| Mission | Target |
|---|
| Open Envoys | 3 to 7 envoys |
| Mine Ores | 500 to 1,000 ores |
| Chop Wood | 5,000 to 10,000 logs |
| Harvest Crops | 10,000 to 25,000 crops |
| Catch Fish | 1,000 to 2,000 fish |
| Slay Mobs | 250 to 750 mobs |
| Collect Gold Shards | 500 Gold Shards |
| Open Rune Tomes | 150 runes |
| Capture Warzone Pond | 1 capture |
| Kill Dojo Bosses | 1 boss (while the Dojo is open) |
| Kill Dojo Mobs | 100 to 250 mobs (while the Dojo is open) |
Each finished mission pays
$250,000 to $750,000 plus
2 random rewards: 16, 32, 64 or 128 Gold Shards, a Mending Glyph, a Reforge Glyph, a personal Money Booster, a personal EXP Booster, or 1 or 2 Spawner Frames. Admins and the Owner claim them in
/guild missions, and the rewards go to whoever claims.
With the Mission Reroll upgrade, Admins and up can right-click a mission to swap it for a new one, once every 24 hours.
Guild Top points and weekly rewards
Guild Top is the weekly guild competition on Survival. It's optional, and every guild is entered automatically. There is a separate leaderboard for each job, so there are nine ways to win each week:
| Leaderboard | How your guild scores |
|---|
| Mining, Logging, Fishing, Farming, Slaying, Head Hunter, Builder, Traveler | Every dollar your members earn from that job in /jobs counts for your guild |
| Events | Points from server events, tracked automatically: 100 per member for a Warzone Domination win, 100 for a Last Man Standing win, 25 for top damage on a boss and 5 per envoy opened |
Pick a job with
/jobs. Guild Top counts the base job payout, so a Job Payment booster raises your paycheck but not your Guild Top score. Standings refresh every 15 minutes. Check them, your guild's placements and the countdown to the reset with
/guild top.
Weekly rewards. Guild Top resets every Monday at 00:00 UTC (Sunday 8 PM ET, 7 PM ET in winter). The top guild on each leaderboard wins:
- 25 GC and $200M, paid to the guild's Owner
- +1 Reset Vault Slot Voucher, claimed from /guild top by an Admin or the Owner
- One random 1.3x guild booster for 1 week: Sell, Head Drop Chance, Job Payment, mcMMO or Experience. The booster works for every member.
A guild can win more than one leaderboard in the same week and collects the rewards for each one. Winners are announced in game and in Discord.
Warzone Pond and guild events
The Warzone is Survival's always-on PvP arena (
/warp pvp), and it's where guilds fight over shared rewards.
- Warzone Pond: fish in the pond as a team. The first guild to catch 100 fish captures it and gets a random 1.25x guild booster for 3 hours (Sell, Head Drop Chance, Job Payment, mcMMO or Experience). The pond opens for capture again every 3 hours, at 02:00, 05:00, 08:00, 11:00, 14:00, 17:00, 20:00 and 23:00 UTC (10 PM, 1 AM, 4 AM, 7 AM, 10 AM, 1 PM, 4 PM and 7 PM ET, one hour earlier in winter). If you die at the pond, you have to wait 10 minutes to go back. Check the pond with /ponds.
- Pond Mastery: your guild's total captures unlock one-time rewards at 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 60, 75 and 250 captures, including Shogun Keys, a Knight Rank Voucher, a Godlike Armor Set, Spawner Frames, a Plus Rank Voucher, Mending and Reforge Glyphs, a Seasonal Key, a Reset Vault Voucher and a Pond Mastery tag for every member. The guild Owner claims them in /ponds.
- Weekly pond winner: the guild with the most captures each week (reset Monday 00:00 UTC, which is Sunday 8 PM ET or 7 PM ET in winter) wins a Seasonal Key and a Reset Vault Voucher, claimed by the Owner in /ponds.
- Warzone Domination: a guild event in the Warzone. Every member of the winning guild gets 100 Events points for Guild Top, 1.15x Dungeon Coins for 1 hour and a random Seasonal timed item. Everyone else who took part gets $250,000.
- Last Man Standing: the last player alive wins 50 random Dojo loot rolls and 100 Events points for their guild.
Guild chat, MOTD and PvP rules
- Guild chat: /guild chat (or /guild c) switches your chat between public and guild. To send one quick message to your guild, start it with !, like !on my way.
- MOTD: the guild message of the day shows to every member when they log in. The Owner can set it with /guild motd <message>, and anyone who can change settings can edit it in Guild Settings.
- Guild Settings: change your banner, primary and secondary guild colors, MOTD and friendly fire.
- Friendly fire: off by default, so guildmates can't hurt each other. Turn it on in Guild Settings if you want to spar. Duels ignore this setting.
- PvP outside the guild: the Warzone always has PvP on. In the rest of the world, players can only fight when both have PvP turned on with /pvp.
Leaving, transferring or disbanding a guild
- Leave: /guild leave, or the Leave Guild button in /guild.
- Kick: /guild kick <player> removes a member below your rank. /guild uninvite <player> cancels an invite.
- Transfer ownership: the Owner opens Guild Members, clicks a member and picks the Owner rank. After you confirm, they become Owner and you become an Admin.
- Disband: the Owner uses /guild leave or the Disband Guild button, confirms, then types the guild's name. Disbanding can't be undone.

Survival Guilds FAQ
How do you make a guild in Minecraft?
Minecraft has no guilds on its own, so you need a server with a guild system. On Complex Survival (hub.mc-complex.com), type /guild create <name>, design a banner and invite friends with /guild invite <player>. It's free.
What is a good Minecraft server with guilds?
Complex Survival is a free long-term survival server with guilds for up to 50 players, a shared guild bank and vault, daily Guild Missions and a weekly Guild Top with in-game prizes. It supports Java 1.12.2 to the latest release and Bedrock on port 19132.
How do I join a guild?
Ask a guild Moderator or higher to invite you, then type /guild join <guild name>. No invite? Type /recruitment to see which guilds are recruiting and apply.
How many players can be in a guild?
20 to start. The Guild Members upgrade raises it to 30, 40 and then 50 members.
Can my guild build a town together?
Yes. Build on one member's claim and set the claim's Default Guild Member Rank to Member, so every guildmate can build there. Add Guild Warps so everyone can teleport to the town from /guild.
How does Guild Top work?
Every job has its own weekly leaderboard, plus an Events leaderboard. Money your members earn from jobs counts for your guild. The top guild on each one wins 25 GC and $200M for the Owner, a Reset Vault Slot Voucher and a 1.3x guild booster for a week.
How do I leave or delete my guild?
Type /guild leave. If you're the Owner, this disbands the guild after you confirm and type its name. To leave without disbanding, make another member Owner from Guild Members first.
Can Java and Bedrock players be in the same guild?
